SUMMARY
The CFO is responsible for directing all financial and accounting functions for the organization. This includes overseeing financial and accounting system controls and standards and providing timely financial and statistical reports for management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs all financial and fiscal management activities. This includes providing leadership and coordination in administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts.
  • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities and recommends modifications as required.
  • Works with CEO and appropriate committees and consultants in the development of human resources policies and mechanisms for monitoring implementation.
  • Arranges for audits of company’s accounts.
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory and other agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Analyzes, identifies, interprets and evaluates financial, accounting, cost and trend reports.
  • Provides assistance and advisement to achieve profit improvement.
  • Performs forecasting tasks and creates and reviews profit and loss statements.
  • Participates in contract negotiations and considers and advises on financing options, favorable terms and contractual risks.
  • Develops and supports marketing strategies and provides directions on terms and pricing strategies to support the business unit’s objectives.
  • Strictly adheres to all company policies and procedures at all times. Enforces internal policies as necessary.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of programs, promotions, and all property and company activities.
  • Displays a positive and productive attitude at all times with customers and staff personnel

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Requires excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently. Resourcefulness in solving problems. Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Strong computer skills. Superior professionalism and judgment. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.  Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.  Ability to make presentations both written and oral.  Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and to establish rapport with senior executives. Must possess a strong ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Excellent skills required in working across multi-functional teams and supporting business units. Must be able to solve extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of ten years of experience in executive level accounting or finance management. Experience in the gaming industry and/or food and beverage or hospitality industries preferred. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires gaming registration.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to write effective letters, memos, or speeches. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff members at all levels, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings.  Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
