SUMMARY
The Corporate Director of Internal Audit is responsible for the safeguarding of company assets through the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive Internal Auditing program, administers the annual audit plan and oversees the conduct of internal audit activities, including internal financial operational audits and activities that may occur should the Company become a public entity in connection with the Company’s potential Sarbanes-Oxley procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Oversee and coordinate internal resource allocations, projects in accounting and operational audits, independent assurance reviews, and risk-based evaluations of business processes and information technology.
  2. Manage the details of the annual internal audit budget, use of technology tools, and methodology enhancements.
  3. Report project progress, audit objectives, process-level risks, internal control changes, and audit results to key stakeholders in the company.
  4. Observe ethical standards of the profession and respect confidentiality.
  5. Conduct audits for compliance with various standards set by outside agencies (Gaming Control Boards, Internal Revenue Service, and other regulatory agencies).
  6. Lead operational audits for key non-gaming areas including hotel, retail, food and beverage, gas, and sales and marketing, and leverage operational audit results to recommend value-added and cost-saving opportunities for the company.
  7. Lead audits for fraud prevention and detection.
  8. Direct or participate in all audits to examine or evaluate company activities.
  9. Conduct interviews, examine documentation, perform substantive and compliance tests, perform analytical reviews, and summarize work performed, exceptions, findings, and recommendations in an audit memo.
  10. Counsel and instruct staff to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved audit programs, and clarify objectives, plans, and key control points to staff.
  11. Coordinate activities with external auditors to minimize duplication of work and cooperate during interim and year-end audits.
  12. Travel to properties for auditing activities.
  13. Streamline audit procedures.
  14. Perform related tasks as assigned by the company’s chief financial officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for a staff of Internal Auditors. Responsibilities include hiring and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree with a Major in Accounting is required.

Five or more years of relevant audit experience in the gaming industry, with increasing levels of responsibility and supervision (3 years minimum leadership/management experience).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

To comply with gaming regulations, candidates must have a CIA or CPA plus a minimum of two years of auditing experience.

Must also possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional gaming card(s) and/or license(s), if any.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Must be able to read and write simple lists, interoffice memorandums, and business correspondence. Must be able to communicate with Executive-level company officers effectively and with professionalism.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
