SUMMARY
The Director of Sales and Marketing is expected to maximize marketing efforts in order to retain current and attract new customers.
Direct overall sales, marketing and revenue advertisement and strategic planning programs. Promotes and follows company’s service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and implement sales, marketing, revenue and catering strategy, including advertising and PR.
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate annual sales, marketing, revenue, and publicity plan.
  • Plan and administer Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Catering Operations budget.
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales, marketing, revenue, and catering departments.
  • Plan and manage internal and external communications and awareness of company direction, mission, aims and activities.
  • Provide selection of most appropriate and cost-effective media through market research.
  • Manage and coordinate vendors of advertising and promotional services.
  • Develop and maintain professional contacts and affiliations with media, production, and related external resources to promote the dissemination of news and publicity about the company.
  • Work with graphic designers for production and consistency of all marketing and company collateral
  • Develop and administer internal and external marketing databases, which includes member, guest, client, and prospect information.
  • Establish annual goals.
  • Oversee company electronic marketing efforts, including supervision of Web site design and maintenance.
  • Supervises department leaders for sales, marketing, revenue, and catering. Make staffing and hiring decisions within the division.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with the community, including area attractions, hotels, Convention & Visitors Bureaus, and other tourism industry representatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships among travel trade representatives and other marketing representatives that would prove beneficial to the company.
  • Carry out market research, and competitor and customer surveys.
  • Liaise and attend meetings as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of promotional materials, including brochures, sales kits, and rate cards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises employees in the sales, marketing, revenue, and catering departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

This position requires constant interaction with guests, clients, members, the executive team, and department managers. This position also frequently interacts with front line staff.
SCHEDULING
This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed schedule as task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
