Overview

The Business Analyst is a member of the global applications group and is the liaison between corporate IT and the global casino operations group who oversees a global group of casinos-ships.

This individual will use a spectrum of personal and technical skills to manage the requirements life-cycle: identify, interpret and document business needs, define the scope of work, structure functional and non-functional requirements, write use-cases to a testable level and interact with team members to support the delivery of the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for modeling business needs, produce project charters, create software requirements documents and other project artifacts. Additionally, this professional must be able to discuss requirements with business team members, development and infrastructure teams to support the delivery of the requirements throughout the life-cycle of the project.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding the business vision. Identifying and gathering business needs, translating them into conceptual models that will be later transformed into technology solutions that will enable the group to achieve its goals.
  • Analyzing current operational procedures and through broad knowledge of the business and IT technology, identify the appropriate solutions that will address the business needs.
  • Communicating detailed functional & non-functional requirements and business rules through user stories, use cases, software specifications and other supporting artifacts.
  • Facilitating the communication between the various Business and IT stakeholders to review and align the business needs with the capabilities that will be offered by the proposed solutions while being thoughtful in suggesting changes and innovation to the business.
  • Collaborating with project team members to analyze requirements for new projects, translating them into project initiation documents / charters.
  • Working in partnership with other members of the IT team and vendors to model systems and data to a logical level, building decision tables, data flows and user interface requirements.
  • Identifying needs for functional and non-functional testing, regression testing and integration testing; assist during execution of the test plan.
  • The individual should understand and be comfortable with a variety of technological solutions on the gaming market, understand IT capabilities and be familiar on how systems need to be configured to support the business processes.
  • Provide project management services and serve as project coordinator on medium scale projects; monitoring and reporting on project progress, conduct steering committee meetings, prepare status reports, timelines, meeting minutes and presentations in all projects. Conduct Lessons learned or post-production project discussions.
  • Ensuring adherence to the project management framework, systems development methodology and quality standards for producing project deliverables.
Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field of study is required. An advanced degree is highly desirable as well as certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) or Project Management (PMP).

Experience:

The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a business analysis role or similar experience in delivering requirements / technical specifications and implementing enterprise solutions / casino gaming technology in an organization or externally with a consulting firm or a Fortune 500 hospitality, leisure or gaming organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • At least 4 years of experience supporting the implementation of enterprise applications solutions from project initiation through implementation to support
  • Experience with Casino Management Systems is highly desirable and will be considered a major differentiator.
  • Must have excellent customer engagement skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Strong Conceptual Modeling skills and techniques to communicate and validate requirements
  • Strong Analytical Thinking and problem solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Detail oriented and committed to a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables. Strong organization skills with the ability to deal with multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Areas of expertise should include, but are not limited to:

  • Game-design ability/experience is a definite plus
  • Having experience working on a large scale project / program implementing software and process solutions.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Background in the Cruise Industry will be considered a plus.
