We are proud to honor a Las Vegas legend as she joins the “Best of the Best” list.
Cynthia Kiser-Murphey, a veteran Las Vegas megaresort executive, returned to her Hospitality roots the fall of 2021 as the General Manager for the new Palms Casino Resort. The Palms is owned and operated by the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, and is scheduled to open spring 2022, with 1,300 hotel rooms, suites, and condominiums, 23 Food & Beverage outlets, and as Cynthia says, “1,000 of the friendliest team members in Las Vegas.”
Kiser-Murphey is the General Manager of the first Native American-owned Las Vegas casino resort.
A History of Success
Prior to becoming the General Manager for the first Native American-owned Las Vegas casino resort, Cynthia served as the CEO for a large trust and benefits fund, but her heart remained in hospitality.
After seeing a hospitality management booth at her high school’s career fair, Cynthia knew where her destiny lay. She left Kansas for Las Vegas where she earned her Bachelor’s in Hotel & Restaurant Management and her Master’s in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
The rest, as they say, is history.
During her distinguished career with MGM Resorts International, she served as Corporate Senior Vice President of Human Resources for MGM’s 12 U.S. gaming properties and 45,000 employees.
A Rising Star in Las Vegas
During her distinguished career with MGM Resorts International, Cynthia served as a Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Administration for the MGM Grand, then moved up to Corporate Senior Vice President of Human Resources for MGM’s 12 US gaming properties and 45,000 employees. In 2008, she became one of the first female presidents on the Las Vegas Strip. As President/COO for New York-New York Hotel & Casino, she oversaw the addition of 25 new stores, restaurants, and attractions at the property.
Along with her many awards and accolades, such as the Casino Enterprise Management Magazine’s Great Women of Gaming List, Las Vegas Woman Magazine’s Fearless Female, and Global Gaming Business Magazine’s One of 25 People to Watch, Cynthia Kiser-Murphey is now Bentley Price Associates, Inc.’s Best of The Best.
Always great to see a fellow alumni doing well.
