Peter Sherlock, Executive Director of Food & Beverage for Chumash Casino on California’s Central Coast is  Best of The Best for September 2022.  An award-winning Executive Chef, Peter oversees operations for two properties, Chumash Casino and Hadsten House Inn, and features a fantastic selection of Santa Barbara County wines and fine vintages from other California wineries and elsewhere. A true oenophile, Peter is also a Certified Level 1 Sommelier by The Court of Master Sommeliers Americas.

Peter grew up on the north shore of Long Island. After graduating from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, he conquered New York, working at the Waldorf-Astoria and The Plaza Hotel. After dazzling the Fairmont San Francisco, the Stirling Club, and the JW Marriott Las Vegas, he served as the corporate chef for Station Casinos’ 110 restaurants before gracing the Santa Barbara Wine Country with his sophisticated yet unpretentious style.

Peter and his wife Madeline have settled well in the Santa Ynez Valley. They have planted a small vineyard and are looking forward to their first harvest.
